Women on the Forefront of Business

Why a woman CEO is leading the payments industry

I’ve always believed that one woman’s success can only help another woman’s success.” – Gloria Vanderbilt

Last month, Fattmerchant, a subscription based merchant services provider that offers unlimited credit card processing for a flat fee applied for the Business Plan Competition at the National Association of Women Business Owners. Just recently we found out that Fattmerchant is a finalist in the Emerging Category and we couldn’t be more excited! There are three stages to this competition; the first is a long application process that goes into the nuts and bolts of Fattmerchant that comprises a full financial plan, business review and operations of the business. The second is a panel interview with leading women executives from companies such as 5th 3rd Bank and Southwest Airlines. The final step is a presentation luncheon at Disney and there the judges will review and pick a winner and that happens on September 23. Can you believe that August is almost over?

When I started picking Suneera’s brain about why she decided to apply and compete, her response was completely different from what I had anticipated. She had mentioned that many of her friends thought it would be a good idea for her to apply and see where it could take her, plus she would get the word out about Fattmerchant. However one of the things that really stood out is her enthusiasm to ensure women in the workplace achieve bigger and better opportunities to lead and grow organizations in executive positions. Many of the executives at Fattmerchant are women and that remains to be an important aspect to our team and the growth of Fattmerchant.
